CGI’s Cybersecurity Consulting team in Western Canada has a strong team of security professionals, as well as specialists in emerging technologies, intelligence, privacy, and communications & security. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join CGI’s Cybersecurity Consulting team in Western Canada as a Firewall Security Specialist. In this role you will have the opportunity to apply your comprehensive knowledge and experience regarding perimeter security devices that you have accumulated over the years. You will also use your experience and skills to plan and lead the testing, implementation, and maintenance of perimeter security technologies and devices for complex networks and clients. If you enjoy working in a dynamic fast-paced collaborative team environment that challenges, you and provides exciting diverse projects than this position is for you.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Configuration, deployment and support of client security infrastructure components (security technologies) in collaboration with peers
• Providing technical support and maintenance for complex environments comprised of enterprise-class security services
• Trouble-shooting and resolution of incidents, in collaboration with teammates
• Provide feedback and recommendations on evolving processes and standard operating procedures for new and existing managed security service offerings
• Effectively working on several concurrent client and internal initiatives
• Sharing your vast knowledge with your colleagues
• Provide input to reference architectures/designs and implementation plans for managed security solutions
• Keeping yourself current with security trends

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Solid experience in firewall and next generation firewall technologies, in particular Palo Alto
• Strong knowledge of networking at layer 2 and layer 3
• Strong troubleshooting, reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Team player, good time-management and organizational skills and ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment
