Firmware Engineer

Actalent's Client is growing and developing new technology similar to what is leveraged in the electric vehicle industry.
Due to growth they are adding a Firmware Engineer with FPGA and VHDL experience.
Description:
Write, simulate and debug HDL code for FPGA design.
Write and debug microcontroller code.
Use Matlab and Simulink to model electrical power systems.
Use both digital hardware and software knowledge to optimize system design.
Work with electrical power engineers and controls engineers to develop advanced power control firmware
Writing code and designing internal circuits.
Working with ARM AMBA AHG or AX
Qualifications:
BSEE or MSEE
5+ years experience with embedded systems hardware and software design
VHDL preferred but Verilog experience could work
Experience with RTOS
Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, memory bus, ARM AMBA AHB or AX, CAN, RS485, Ethernet, Ethercat, USB, Fiber Optics
Experience with switching power converter control
Motor control experience
The job requires experience working with software that interfaces with FPGA to microcontroller.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $120000.00
Flexibility to work remotely an average of 2 days/week Room to grow Exciting new product development and technology similar to what is seen in electric vehicle industry
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00
