DescriptionDescriptionAs a Firmware Engineer, you will work on the next generation wireless communication products. Our products are based on platforms that run RTOS, embedded Linux and bare metal firmware on ARM based processors. You will work with other cross-functional team members such as RF system engineers, software engineers, DSP engineers, FPGA logic designers and hardware engineers to design and develop embedded software that is instrumental in creating products loved all over the globe. Minimum QualificationsMinimum QualificationsMS Degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or similar degree with at least 3 years work experience.Experience designing embedded firmware in C and C++ on ARM processors.Recent development experience in 4 or more of the following areas: Embedded Linux, RTOS, resource efficient firmware design, hardware driver development, IRQ handling, multi-core or multi-threaded software development.International travel of 10% is required.Key QualificationsKey QualificationsPreferred QualificationsPreferred QualificationsPassionate to learn and work in an agile environmentExperience developing multithreaded firmware for real time applicationsExperience with hardware bringup, debug and basic lab instruments such as JTAG, Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer etc.Experience developing firmware for one or more of the following chip level interface standards is desirable: USB, SPI, I2C, UART, SDIO, PCIe, CAN.Experience with firmware development infrastructure - toolchains, compilers, debuggers, CI/CD, etc.Strong interpersonal skills.Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for code quality and maintainabilityEducation & ExperienceEducation & ExperienceAdditional RequirementsAdditional RequirementsPay & BenefitsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
