Description:

Serves as a member of the Trinity Health National FirstChoice Program team. Provides clinical and administrative leadership for planning, organizing, directing, monitoring and evaluating safe, superior and preeminent quality patient care to ensure the advancement of clinical practice and patient care for the national traveler program. Provides leadership, management and technical direction and oversees the workforce and operational activities of assigned roles in the National FirstChoice program.

Participates in and supports the strategic development and outcomes management of clinical services and/or department improvements within multi areas of responsibility, in alignment with the Trinity Health National FirstChoice office directives and standards. Proactively works in a collaborative manner with health ministry leaders, Senior Leadership Teams, and FirstChoice Program leaders/staff to improve service delivery and attain strategic goals and objectives. 

Collaborates with and supports the national program director as well as other key leaders, groups, and stakeholder audiences in the development and implementation of operational plans, goals and objectives. This position reports to the Trinity Health National First Choice Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSKnows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Trinity Health in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions.Serves as a member of the FirstChoice leadership team to participate and give feedback in the development and implementation of the strategic plan, implementation of change, and departmental decision-making.Aligned with the Trinity Health FirstChoice program standards; supports the development and implementation of short and long-term goals and objectives, standards of care, and operating plans for the FirstChoice National Travel Program.Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team and unit staff in the development, implementation, and monitoring of unit operating and capital budgets.Collaborates with the National Director in managing ongoing measurement, action planning, and evaluation methods related to all dimensions of performance inclusive of budget, productivity, associate engagement, patient satisfaction, workplace safety, healthy work environments, and clinical outcome targets for the FirstChoice National Office.Utilizes standard capture elements and monitoring to measure and regularly report on FirstChoice utilization, external agency utilization, over-time shifts and shift incentive costs, etc.Operationalizes, implements and monitors FirstChoice program standards related to education and required competencies, orientation, retention, cultural competence, conflict management, and coaching of colleagues to ensure staffing for safe, superior and preeminent quality patient care for the FirstChoice National Office. Collaborates with FirstChoice recruiters to ensure the recruitment, retention, development, mentoring, succession planning for and engagement of quality patient care colleagues within assigned area. Develops, promotes, and implements an environment of shared leadership and decision-making.Participates in evaluating, selecting and integrating health care technology and information systems that support patient care and the National FirstChoice program.Collaborates with, and with direction from, the Trinity Health First Choice National Office Director (along with interdisciplinary team members and Quality/Safety department colleagues) to facilitate, develop, direct, manage, and monitor the implementation of effective evidence-based standards, policies, and protocols. Measures, analyzes, and continuously improves the safety and quality of patient care delivered in the FirstChoice office as demonstrated through empiric outcomes. Communicates and collaborates on a regular basis with department leaders, colleagues, and other identified stakeholders on those achievements and concerns related to patient safety, quality, patient loyalty, colleague engagement and satisfaction.  Develops and implements action plans to address concerns utilizing a shared decision-making model. Participates in Trinity Health FirstChoice program decision-making workgroups to implement improvement changes within the organization/region. Other duties as assigned. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSGraduate from an approved Radiology Technology program. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) authorized in the applicable state(s) of practice/employment. Bachelor’s degree with a major in Radiology Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or related field.  Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive management experience in Radiology services.  Practical experience and/or a basic knowledge of the various sub-specialty radiology imaging modalities.Understanding of the health care environment and all applicable laws and regulations.Demonstrated knowledge of system thinking, change leadership, shared governance, matrix reporting, continuous improvement and financial and productivity management.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all members of the health care team.Ability to synthesize and interpret clinical, quality, and financial data.Demonstrated creative and innovative problem solving and critical thinking skills.Demonstrated ability to model the use of evidence-based leadership/practice, and project management skills.Displays strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide mentoring and coaching to managers and colleagues.  Ability to influence results and tactfully manage complex relationships and influences across the organization and to effectively represent the system to varied and diverse internal and external groups.  Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively identify and present ideas, services, assess opportunities, facilitate improvements, and present to all levels of management.Excellent interpersonal, consultative, relationship and consensus building skills in order to develop collaborative partnerships with leaders, key stakeholders and decision makers, and operate comfortably in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Ability to influence results, garner support and tactfully manage complex relationships across the organization. Ability to read the subtle nuances of situations and react/plan accordingly.Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.Must possess a personal presence characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.​

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to them as they change frequently.  Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.  Ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, work on several projects simultaneously and adapt to interruptions. Communicates frequently, in person and over the phone, with people in all locations.  Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and virtual meeting communication.Manual dexterity is needed in order to operate a computer keyboard.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and concurrently focus on a variety of complex tasks / projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles. If located within 60 miles of Trinity health System Office (Livonia MI) must be willing to travel into work up to 2x a week.  The remaining days will be virtual.Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures
