No County Chautauqua Street Address Dunkirk Fisheries Research Station City Dunkirk State NY Zip Code 14048 Duties Description This position will involve implementing an angler survey that involves direct contact interviews of anglers and recording data from fishing trips in a standard manner. This position will also involve participation in Lake Erie fisheries programs aboard RV Argo and other vessels. The incumbent will also process and analyze samples in a laboratory setting, and QA/QC and enter data into a database. Other data processing and entry tasks will occur as office work. Other field and lab work will be required as needed. Minimum Qualifications Thirty semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries, marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine, or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography. Additional Comments This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 11/28/2025. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview. Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.Must be able to work in remote areas.Overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required.
