**Job** **Summary:**
The Cytologist will lead tissue processing activities, including paraffin embedding, sectioning, and staining, to support pathological analysis. This role involves troubleshooting, process improvement, and mentoring team members to ensure high-quality results and compliance with regulatory standards.
**What** **you’ll** **be** **doing:**
+ Performing and overseeing slide preparation activities for microscopic evaluation by pathologists.
+ Collaborating with pathologists to ensure timely analysis and delivery of results.
+ Conducting FISH and IHC technical processing, staining, and maintenance of histology equipment.
+ Mentoring junior staff, providing technical expertise, and leading team training on specialized techniques.
+ Troubleshooting processes and equipment, applying root cause analysis to resolve issues.
+ Ensuring compliance with CLIA, CAP, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
+ Leading continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance data quality, lower costs, and optimize turnaround times.
+ Documenting laboratory methods, validations, and findings; present results to internal and external stakeholders.
**What** **We** **Are** **Looking** **For:**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent ( _required_ ).
+ More than 5 years of experience in a histopathology lab or discipline ( _required_ ).
+ ASCP certification or equivalent with 4 years of experience in clinical, research, academic, or commercial laboratory settings ( _required_ ).
+ _Other_ _equivalent_ _combination_ _of_ _education,_ _training,_ _and_ _experience_ _may_ _be_ _accepted_ _in_ _lieu_ _of_ _degree._
**The** **Knowledge,** **Skills,** **and** **Abilities** **needed** **for** **this** **role:**
+ Expertise in histology techniques, staining procedures, and laboratory equipment maintenance.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and excellent communication skills.
+ Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $77,700.00 - $129,500.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
