Fitments Operator II

Fitments Operator – Level II  

 

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

Fitments Operator Level II will provide support to production by supplying quality parts for bag making process.  Fitments Level III will serve as backup to this position.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an at-will employer, SIG (formerly Scholle IPN) reserves the right to add to or modify this list to the extent it deems necessary.

Perform basic tasks on Extruder operations including cutting web, purging extruder, threading extruder, changing recipes on robots, starting extruders, picking tear drops, and standing up flutes. Extruder quality – properly performing and interpreting quality tests. Completing end of shift paperwork and daily production reports. Completing on AM inspection on the combiner & understanding the findings. Issues material to production orders in the Baan System. Inspects resin to verify it is free from all forms of contamination. Logs resin/colorant to track usage. Return materials placed on hold to ensure accurate inventory levels. Makes boxes to be filled with Production parts. Identify defective parts thru visual inspection. Data entry into Baan system Creates and attaches labels to product containers. Counts and reports scrap. Can be relied upon to produce quality parts without oversight. Non Scheduled vs Scheduled downtime – understanding the difference and how to calculate. Data Entry – understanding what data needs to be entered, interpreting data, and how to correctly enter into system. 5S basics – understanding everything has it’s place and everything in it’s place. Responds with an appropriate sense of urgency when issues arise. Has a grasp of when an issue is their responsibility or when it is time to escalate.

 

 

YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

EDUCATION: High school diploma or G.E.D required.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Ability to work all shifts and perform overtime. Previous experience in bag making preferred. Future training and/or education may be necessary to further job skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and Power Point presentations.  Basic skill knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel, and Virtual Client to perform effectively in daily activities Ability to perform visual inspection process and successfully read and apply technical material including print specifications.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Frequently standing, walking and sitting. Frequently required the use of hands to finger, feel, reach or handle machinery. Frequently bend, stoop and reach. Visual Acuity (VA).

 

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Moderate working conditions. Exposure to variable noise levels. Often exposed to moving mechanical parts.
