Fitness & Athletics Attendant

Meets and greets all Members and guests who enter the amenity facility. Provides outstanding service to Members and their guests professionally and courteously. Primarily responsible for the cleanliness and comfort of Members and their guests while they are utilizing the Fitness Center and Resort Pool.

Assists Members and guests in the Fitness Center, familiarizes them with equipment and programming offerings, and ensures Member comfort while enjoying the Resort Pool. Associates are also responsible for laundry service and related public area cleanliness.

Duties and Responsibilities
General Daily Operations/ Member Services
• Greet Members and guests to the resort campus warmly and pleasantly.
• Shows up for work every day ready to serve the Members and guests. Proper attitudes and appearance are essential to performing a job correctly.
• Develop a rapport with Members.
• Anticipate the needs of Members with repetitive requests.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
• Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by Members and guests.
• Administer and enforce club policies and procedures at all designated fitness & athletics areas including The Hub amenity campus, Rendezvous Park amenity campus, and Turner Park amenity campus.

Scope of the position/ Fitness Center
• Must be knowledgeable about the general use of all fitness equipment.
• Greets all Members and guests by name as they enter the Fitness Center.
• Keeps Fitness Center clean and neatly organized at all times.
• Quickly learns the names of new Members.
• Must be knowledgeable regarding fitness programming and adequately explain them to Members and guests.
• Ensures attendance of all group fitness classes.
• Preforms rounds in the Fitness Center and Wellness Locker rooms. Hourly sanitation and disinfection logs must be completed.
• Assists Personal Trainers and Group Fitness Instructors with the general setup needed for sessions and group fitness classes.

Scope of the position/ Resort Pool
• Ask members for a Membership card to ensure non-members are not using the pool – when applicable.
• Opens all umbrellas uniformly, cabanas, and neatly arranges all pool furniture and other pool activity items to include setup for Aqua fitness programming.
• Cleans all pool furniture; including umbrellas, tables and chairs, chaise lounge chairs, small beverage tables, dining tables, and chairs.
• Sweeps and washes the pool deck daily.
• Updates self with the day’s weather conditions.
• Updates self with the day’s activities of the resort campus.
• Empties trash containers on the pool deck throughout the day, as needed. The trash containers should be emptied before leaving at the end of each shift.

Scope of the position/ Laundry/ Public Area & Locker rooms
• Washes and neatly folds towels, as instructed. Keeps a level supply of towels available at all times. If towel inventory becomes low, notify the Fitness & Athletics Manager so that the appropriate action can be taken.
• Checks towel hamper. Wash, dry, and fold towels as needed. Inform the Fitness & Athletics Manager if the towel par level is low.
• Thoroughly clean the screened patio, desk area, wall, etc. daily. All should be wiped down and free of bugs and grime.
• Informs the Fitness & Athletics when locker room supplies par levels are low. Completes proper requisitions for general supplies and the first aid kit.
• Keeps work area clean and neatly organized at all times.

Other Common Responsibilities
• Approach all encounters with Members, guests, and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
• Comply at all times with brand standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient club operations.
• Ensure the Hub is prepared for proper opening and closing each day.
• Promotes activities and functions offered throughout the Venue.

Required Skills/Abilities
• Possess a high level of energy, initiative, enthusiasm, and cooperation, and exercise good judgment and discretion.
• Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 50 lbs., up to 30 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. constantly.
• Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, lifting, and grasping for up to 5 hours without sitting.

Educational and Experience Requirements
• CPR and First Aid Certifications required, or willingness to become certified within the first 90 days.

Preferred Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent and/or 1-year experience in a customer-facing luxury environment preferably in a resort or club environment

Working Conditions
• Works indoors and outdoors. Potential exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement, sharp utensils, harmful chemicals, and or solvents if proper safety procedures are not followed.
