Schedule: Hours will vary, evenings and weekends may be required Supports the Program Manager III in the development and delivery of fitness related direct member programs and services, including the management and coordination of fitness programming for the youth population and floor programming for adults. Oversees fitness programming, managing fitness instructors, maintaining facility equipment, and handling administrative tasks to ensure the effective delivery of services. Collaborates with other departments, organizing outreach events, and performing other duties as assigned to support the overall fitness operations. **Key Accountabilities:** **Member Experience and Core Values** + Deliver an exceptional member experience by providing top notch programming and services in a welcoming, inclusive, and professional environment. + Ensure staff performance and culture reflects the organization’s core values of Teamwork, Honesty/Integrity/Service/Communication/Respect/Whole Health. **Staff Management** + Work with Fitness Director to recruit, hire, and train fitness staff, including fitness instructors and supporting Health Fitness Professionals in the assignment of work. + Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure proper coverage for all fitness programs and services. + Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to ensure high-quality member experiences. + Coordinates fitness internship program; oversees the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of student interns. + Acts as facility/department manager on duty and will be point of contact for escalated issues or questions. **Fitness Programming for Adults and Youth** + Design, coordinate, implement, and oversee a variety of fitness programs and classes for youth and adults. + Evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for improvements. + Collaborate with other departments to organize special events, workshops, and seasonal fitness offerings to engage members. **Facility Equipment Inventory and Maintenance** + Manage and maintain all fitness equipment, ensuring it is clean, functional, and safe for use. + Track equipment usage and make recommendations for replacements or upgrades. + Coordinate with the Operations team to ensure routine maintenance and troubleshooting are performed. **Administrative Duties** + Responsible for setup/coordination of programs in Club Automation system and manages participant registrations. + Oversee Payroll for program instructors. + Collaborate with the marketing team to promote fitness programs and events to maximize engagement. + Research and recommend equipment and capital purchases in alignment with budget constraints. **Other Duties as Needed** + Assist with department-wide initiatives, outreach events, and cross-functional projects. + Perform additional tasks to support the overall goals of the organization as assigned by leadership. **Minimum Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Kinesiology, or related discipline. + CPR, First Aid and AED certification. + Group Exercise class recognized industry certification required within 30 days of hire. + 1+ years’ experience in exercise programming. + Customer service expertise. + Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity. + Ability to work effectively with all levels of individuals both within HealthFitness and the client organization. **Preferred:** + Personal Training certification from ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NSCA or NASM. + Demonstrated experience in leading, coordinating and delivering effective programs including budgeting, marketing, and promotions. + Participation in position related professional organizations. + Experience with Club Automation or applicable member management software. + Strong leadership, team management, interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others. + Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands, meet deadlines, and collaborate with all business units. + Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.
