Summary Who May Apply? WORLD-WIDE US Citizens not ordinarily resident in Belgium. US resident alien family members of US sponsors who are citizens of NATO countries other than Belgium. Non-US Nationals must have resided in the US or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. This position is located at the USAG Benelux, DFMWR, Chievres Fitness Center, Chievres AB, Belgium. Responsibilities Coordinates and manages the organizational units to include facility operations, fitness programs, intramural programs, special events and competitions. Supervises and mentors a team of fitness professionals responsible for the management and operations of multiple installation fitness centers and the execution of comprehensive physical fitness programming and instruction. Responsible for developing and executing non-appropriated fund (NAF) budget and providing requirements for an annual appropriated fund (APF) budget to include expenditures required to conduct physical fitness programs and facility operations. Ensures employees are properly trained in the use of RecTrac and proper cash handling procedures. Ensures funds are collected, receipts are verified, and that deposits are maid daily. Assists in ensuring all personnel are properly trained and maintain appropriate professional certifications. Oversees the inventory of property, condition of fitness equipment, and tracks the maintenance and replacement as appropriate. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Twelve (12) months of progressive specialized work experience in the health and fitness industry that includes the demonstrated ability to plan, supervise, administer, or carry out fitness and sports programs and the ability to manage the staff that guide participants needed for activities. (Note: Experience must be equivalent in complexity and difficulty to the NF-03 level). OR Possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or University in exercise science, sports management, or physical education. (Note: A copy of your official transcripts must be uploaded as proof of education) In addition to the above applicants must: Possess a nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AE OR ability to obtain the certification within 6 months of employment. Possess a basic level personal trainer certification from a nationally accredited organization. Highly Desired Qualification Two years of full-time supervisory experience in the health and fitness industry. (Note: Highly desired criteria must be indicated on your resume. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
