Functional Competencies:

 

 

He  must have exposure and knowledge of  pumps, valves, bearings, conveyer belt, gear boxes, lubricant used in bearing and pump, gear box, vacuum pumps,  alignment setting, compressors & components  and its maintenance, reasons for bearing failure etcHe must have knowledge of preventive maintenance, benefits of preventive maintenance and various types of predictive maintenance methodologies Exposure and knowledge of Multiple Effect Evaporator (MEE) preferable.He should have basic knowledge in computer applications like MS office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB OBJECTIVE

:

To carry out mechanical maintenance to MEE plant, keeping equipment running at optimum efficiency with minimum costs. Undertake maintenance that minimizes downtime & follow up to prevent reoccurrence.

Planned maintenance

 

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using careful measuring and testing instruments– report using CMMS package (SAP)Carry out follow up work (visual and PM checks) as scheduled on CMMS (SAP)Carry out lubrication to plant as scheduleCarry out routine adjustments to prolong equipment lifeFabricates (welding) repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.Maintains equipment, parts, and inventories, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing work order in SAP.

 

 

Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.Identify opportunities to improve equipment performanceCarry out predictive maintenance activities like vibration monitoring etc on moving mechanical parts like gearboxes, bearings etc

Breakdown maintenance

 

Attend all breakdowns and undertake repairs as required. Trouble shooting should be fast and effectiveFeedback to AM (maintenance) for any follow-up required and help in identification of the root cause of the problemsMaintains equipment, parts, and inventories, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing work order in SAP.Recommend materials to be absorbed in stores inventory.Check quality of delivered mechanical spares required to complete maintenance in time Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Engineering Improvements

 

Propose improvements to increase efficiencies/ improve safety standards Carry out approved improvementsBe part of start-up teams in engineering projects as required

Safety

 

 

 

 Undertake all maintenance tasks safely with appropriate PPE & proceduresAdhere to safe working practices such as working at height regulations like all equipment / motor covers are fitted securelyEnsure equipment is correctly isolated (LOTO procedures) when maintenance is carried outAll floors are kept dry to minimize slipsIdentify & report any unsafe working conditions/ machine faultsPropose plant improvements in terms of safety and carry out the same once approvedCarry out regular safety inspections of working areasComplete tools reconciliation in shiftMaintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

General Maintenance

 

 

Keep workshop tidy & ready for maintenance repairsAssist with electrical tasks as required.Perform any other reasonable work related tasks as instructed by Engineering Executive.Ensuring workability of all kinds of tools including portable tools
