What does taking part in the Collins Aerospace Maintenance Apprentice involve?
Our apprenticeship programme is tailored to develop outstanding manufacturing and engineering apprentices that, from day one, will work on state-of-the-art technology to deliver high value manufacturing expertise to our global customers, including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer and Lockheed Martin.
The apprenticeship lasts for a period of 4 years and is a partnership between Collins Aerospace and In-Comm Training. You will learn key engineering principles at In-Comm which will be vital to your development at Collins Aerospace.
As a Fitter Tester your learning will consist of training on building and testing a variety of different products with increasing complexity. Your time will be split between attending In-Comm Training Centre in Telford where you will spend time learning basic engineering skills, and on-site putting your learning into practice where you will learn from our skilled engineers the basic principles and under pinning knowledge needed for your career.
By the end of the programme, having completed your functional training and apprenticeship, you will be awarded Level 2 Foundation Competencies, Level 3 Diploma and the Apprenticeship.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for the best individuals who have the following attributes:
Minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Grade C/5 or above including Mathematics and English
Be a UK resident living in the UK for a minimum of 3 years
Good analytical skills and problem solving
Demonstrates a passion for hands on engineering
Good personal management and self-organisation skills
Effective communicator – written and verbal
