POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fixed Asset Accountant, Shared Services is responsible for the accurate recording of data in the accounting system to enable the preparation of relevant fixed asset financial information for internal and external reporting purposes.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work closely with Supply Chain, Accounts Payable and General Ledger teams to ensure the timely entry of additions, disposals, depreciation and accruals for the General Ledger and the Fixed Assets Register (FAR)
2. Prepares and reviews reconciliations between the Fixed Assets Register and the General Ledger.
3. Ensures an appropriate filing system of fixed asset information (e.g. journals, invoice copies, capex request forms) is maintained such that the information can be retrieved for future reference when required.
4. Assists with tasks associated with the month end closing process as assigned by supervisors
5. Interacts with the Construction group and other departments to ensure fixed assets costs are properly classified and recorded
6. Prepares Project Cost reports and analysis
7. Produces financial information that is accurate, timely and in compliance with relevant Accounting Standards and other legislative requirements for external reporting purposes.
8. Reviews the tagging and physical stocktaking of the Company’s assets performed by Gaming, Non-gaming and Shared Departments
9. Prepares information required by external and internal (SOX) auditors to meet reporting deadlines.
10. Undertakes special projects as and when required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
I. Experience
1. Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience
2. Comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards
3. Sound knowledge of ERP and computer applications
4. Previous experience working in the Gaming and/or Hotel industry would be a benefit
II. Education
1. Appropriate tertiary qualification, majoring in Accounting/Finance or other relevant field is essential
2. A recognized accounting qualification or studying for such a qualification will be considered an advantage
III. Skills / Competencies
1. Good command of written and spoken English language
2. Ability to work under pressure and achieving reporting timelines
3. Good MS Excel knowledge, and proficiency with computer applications & accounting software
4. Strong attention to detail and well organized
