Primary Function
The Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for the accurate classification, recording, and analysis of financial data to maintain complete and compliant financial records. This role provides essential consolidation, accounting, and analytical support to both Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) and Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT). The position plays a critical role in the preparation of month-end financial statements, fixed asset accounting, account reconciliations, and quarterly reporting obligations.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the consolidation and reconciliation of global financial data using enterprise consolidation platforms such as Hyperion and FCCS.
Drive standardization and efficiency across all consolidation processes, including:
Ensuring consistent financial reporting and mapping across business units
Maintaining effective communication and alignment with the corporate finance team
Integrating reporting and mapping frameworks for newly acquired entities
Promoting uniformity in account definitions and reporting standards
Manage the recording and reconciliation of all intercompany transactions.
Prepare and consolidate corporate-level reporting schedules, including:
Asset rollforwards
Key statistical and operational metrics
Fulfill corporate reporting requirements, including:
Tax package preparation
Insurance updates
Use tax and unclaimed property tax reporting and audits
Oversee all phases of Fixed Asset Accounting, including:
Capital project authorization and asset capitalization
Depreciation methodology and expense recognition
Fixed asset ledger and account reconciliation
Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesCore Accounting Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Financial statement preparation and variance analysis
Working knowledge of internal control frameworks and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
Technical & Analytical Competencies:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
Familiarity with large-scale ERP systems such as SAP
Strong analytical acumen with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex financial data
Capable of identifying optimal formulas and methodologies for financial problem-solving
Professional Attributes:
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and global stakeholders
Education & Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in public or private accounting environments
