Position OverviewThe position is a key member for the Financial Shared Services RTR Accounting team and is responsible for performing and support general accounting tasks; preparation of intermediate / low complexity journal entries and inputs in the ERP, supporting documentation for all the GL process from the beginning of the month until final delivery of financial statements to corporate, banking transactions, accruals, and others.The Fixed Assets Specialist is responsible for managing the lifecycle of the organization's fixed assets, including acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, and record-keeping. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and relevant regulations while supporting financial reporting and audits.ResponsibilitiesFixed Assets Full Process: Maintain and update the fixed assets register, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Capitalizations, disposals, transfers, and depreciation of fixed assets.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to fixed assets in compliance with US GAAP and statutory requirements.Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including fixed asset reconciliations.Evaluate and review account balances related to the role’s responsibilities. Verify, report, and explain any significant differences in accordance with general ledger policies and SOX requirements.Reconcile accounts under both fiscal and US GAAP Ledgers and ensure that there are no reconciliation items without a proper justification.Execute and support physical audits of fixed assets for LATAM and ANZ regions. Conduct periodic physical audits to verify the existence and condition of assets. Address discrepancies between physical and recorded assets.Ensure compliance with US GAAP, local GAAP, and SOX controls. Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing required documentation and explanations. Ensure adherence to tax regulations related to asset capitalization and depreciation.Prepare, update, and create KPIs in alignment with general ledger requirements. Ensure there are no open items older than the accounting policy specifications and follow up to resolve any remaining open items as needed.Support the resolution of issues or areas of concern within reconciliations and accounting processes.Actively support the implementation of best practices within the department. Implement and enforce fixed asset policies and procedures.Document processes for transitioned and existing work to ensure that procedures are clearly defined and meet business continuity objectives. Collaborate with managers to support and develop initiatives aimed at managing and improving business operations.Perform journal entries and account reconciliations as required for the general ledger process.Perform all other ad-hoc activities as assigned.Interactions Internal:Accounts Payable, Accounts receivable, Treasury, Payroll and HR Management, Operations, Sales, IT, Internal Audit, Corporate reporting, FP&A, Brazil staff.External:External Auditors, consultants in taxes.Requirements4+ year of Fixed assets related experienceTechnical degree or bachelor’s degree in course in accounting or related area.Microsoft Office tools proficiency including Excel, Word, and PowerPointAbility to handle a high workload efficiently, maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Financial system experience.
