Responsibilities:Fixed Equipment Engineer needed by Celanese Corporation in Bishop, TX to Improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of Celanese global assets through the application of engineering expertise to provide effective solutions to reliability and maintenance issues. Utilize engineering standards and standard work processes relating to equipment reliability and integrity. Work closely in a team atmosphere with various locations and functional roles in the routine and non-routine troubleshooting and repair of fixed equipment, as well as supporting systems. Perform Root Cause Analysis of failed components. Submit recommendations for improvement to achieve site safety, reliability and productivity goals. Participate in technical design reviews and MOC’s for capital projects while conforming to applicable codes, standards, and practices. Perform economic evaluations of opportunities at plant sites globally. Provide technical expertise and mentoring globally to plant site technical personnel as required. Work directly with vendors to resolve problems, purchase equipment, and recommend spare parts, budgets, plans, and forecasts. Work with manufacturing plant piping and fixed equipment, design, fabrication, operation, repair and reliability improvement. Conduct fixed equipment fabrication, repair and failure analysis. Utilize preventative maintenance systems and their administration. Perform daily tasks while following OSHA 1910.119 Mechanical Integrity regulations.
Qualifications:Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation performing Root Cause Analysis of failed components; working directly with vendors to resolve problems, purchase equipment, and recommend spare parts, budgets, plans, and forecasts; working with manufacturing plant piping and fixed equipment, design, fabrication, operation, repair and reliability improvement; conducting fixed equipment fabrication, repair and failure analysis; utilizing preventative maintenance systems and their administration; and performing daily tasks while following OSHA 1910.119 Mechanical Integrity regulations.
In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, the employer will accept an additional two (2) years of experience in a related occupation performing Root Cause Analysis of failed components; working directly with vendors to resolve problems, purchase equipment, and recommend spare parts, budgets, plans, and forecasts; working with manufacturing plant piping and fixed equipment, design, fabrication, operation, repair and reliability improvement; conducting fixed equipment fabrication, repair and failure analysis; utilizing preventative maintenance systems and their administration; and performing daily tasks while following OSHA 1910.119 Mechanical Integrity regulations.
