We are looking for an experienced trader to join Vanguard’s Fixed Income Global Bond Index Team. This is a risk-taking and risk management role with significant opportunity and expectations to make valuable contributions to Vanguard’s fixed income portfolio management and trade execution process. If you have a strong passion for investing and solid experience in a trading role, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities: + Negotiates and executes trades for fixed income managed portfolios. Measures the impact of trades on the relevant portfolios. Maintains relationships with security dealers. Acts as a back up in investment decision-making function when the portfolio manager is off the desk. Authorized to invest cash flows across markets and act as portfolio manager with a risk controlled level of discretion. + Performs market and risk analysis for the portfolio management team to identify critical data for decision-making. Tracks relative value withing relevant sectors. Interprets risk of new events across a broad sector class. + Develops, evaluates, and acquires models for analyzing investment strategies and cost analysis for executions. Generates complex performance attribution reports, identifies and resolves issues to produce accurate analyses. + Responds to fixed income desk inquiries pertaining to bond trading information and bond pricing. Performs necessary analysis and relays relevant information to the appropriate portfolio manager for action. Acts as a liaison with outside bond vendors, develops and maintains strategic relationship with security dealers. + Identifies, recommends, and develops process and operational improvements. Develops strategies to add value through efficient execution and quantitative research. Helps develop operational knowledge of less tenured traders. + Analyzes data and develops trading and portfolio strategies with oversight. Independently generates ideas and research. + Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: + Five years related work experience, including four years investment management experience. Fixed Income trading experience required. + Undergraduate degree in finance or economics or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred. + Strong analytical skillset to identify trends and evaluate market conditions. + Consistent record of working in a team-based environment. + CFA designation is preferred. + Previous computer programming experience or familiarity with programming languages (ie Python) is preferred. ***This is a work from office role Monday-Friday*** Special Factors Sponsorship Vanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.
