Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for designing complex weld fixtures and weldments, applying DFM principles, and managing design projects from concept through manufacturing release.
Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent (preferred)
3+ years of applicable mechanical design experience
Experience designing complex weld fixtures or equivalent designs
Experience designing weldments
Experience designing for manufacturability (DFM)
Experience managing design projects related to owned designs
Preferred SkillsExperience with heavy or large-scale fixture designs beyond small jigs
Experience with manufacturing release packages (drawings, BOMs, specifications)
Hands-on mechanical experience with equipment, vehicles, or machinery maintenance/repair
Experience supporting fabrication, welding, and shop-floor build/debug activities
Job ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop complex weld fixtures to support fabrication and welding operations
Design weldments and related components with DFM considerations for cost, quality, and build repeatability
Create and maintain design documentation including CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and specifications
Manage assigned design projects including scope, schedules, design reviews, and manufacturing release
Support fabrication and welding teams during build, debug, and implementation of fixtures and weldments
Perform hands-on evaluation and troubleshooting of fixture performance and fit-up issues during production support
Pay Details: $40.00 to $50.00 per hour
