A day in the life.
This is a hybrid (2 days a week) position, that may require in person client facing meetings.
This position is responsible for assisting EH&B with the delivery of compliance assistance, education, and training with respect to federal, state, and local health and welfare benefits law to our Employee Health & Benefits (“EH&B”) practice and its clients and prospects.
A Compliance Consultant will address a wide variety of ad hoc compliance questions, advise clients on compliance strategy, complete periodic client compliance reviews, participate in client seminars and other public speaking engagements, and participate in the compliance training of the EH&B team.
As our Compliance Consultant on the Employee Health & Benefits team, you’ll
Review and respond to ad hoc requests for EH&B compliance assistance under general supervision as needed.Evaluate individual client compliance adherence and propose compliance strategies that align with business goals.Deliver presentations and participate in public speaking engagements as directed.Review written material including plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and contracts as necessary.Function as a key resource to MMA EH&B practice team by performing client and prospect compliance reviews as directed.Ensure that company policies and procedures are up to date and include any new or legal changes.Research and report to management and appropriate authorities on compliance violations.Provide regular training to ensure Colleagues are aware of compliance requirements and best practices.Additional responsibilities
Attend scheduled Compliance COE and EH&B meetings.Participate in Compliance COE and EH&B compliance calls and related meetings.Perform additional responsibilities or special projects as assigned and necessary to support business objectives.Our future colleague.
We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college or university or similarly recognized educational institution.Preferred 3 years of experience on U.S. health and welfare compliance, including ERISA and the Affordable Care Act. Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of employer-provided group health and fringe benefit programs.Strong communication skills with the ability to speak effectively to multiple types of stake holders. Able to read, analyze, and interpret a variety of statutory, regulatory, and other related technical guidance and material. Able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions with support from senior COE staff.Able to participate in the presentation of information and responses to questions in both group and one-on-one settings.Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction.Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and organize own workload.Strong relationship builder and partner to the business.Must be able to work remotely using VPN access from home or while traveling. Minimal travel will be required.Proficient using the Microsoft Windows platform and the following standard software programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet-based research and internet-based research systems (e.g. EBIA Checkpoint).These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:
