Job Summary + Carries out manual tasks which contribute to the carrying out of the project for their professional specialty (road, pipelines, rail, etc.) in observance of the safety guidelines. Key Responsibilities + Direct traffic safely and efficiently around construction sites using appropriate signage and signals. + Communicate with drivers and pedestrians to guide them safely through or around the work zone. + Monitor traffic patterns and be alert to potential hazards or unsafe conditions. + Work closely with construction team members to coordinate the safe movement of vehicles and equipment on-site. + Set up and take down traffic control devices, including cones, signs, and barriers. + Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. + Report any traffic incidents, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors immediately. + Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and regulations. Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent preferred. + Previous experience as a flagger or in a similar role is a plus but not required. + Ability to obtain necessary flagging certifications (if not already certified). + Strong communication skills and ability to direct traffic effectively. + Excellent situational awareness and attention to detail. + Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions. + Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift materials (up to 50 lbs).
