Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. **What You'll Be Doing** + Alert or stop traffic intermittently as required by the progress of work in a work zone. + Operate small equipment and hand tools on a variety of job sites consisting of paving, grading, pipe installation, and site work. + Maintains housekeeping of job site and facilities, ensures equipment is in good working order + Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in asphalt paving, typical site work, grading, storm/sanitary/water pipe installation, etc + Properly follow all Company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Manager. + Performs routine inspection and preventative and corrective maintenance on small equipment and hand tools if within abilities; escalates issues that are not repairable or safe. + Routinely assists other members of the crew as needed, including shoveling and cleanup + Fuel, oil and grease to ensure proper function of equipment and complete associated paperwork + Performs other related activities as assigned **What Are We Looking For** + High School Diploma (or equivalency) AND prior relevant job experience + Valid/Clean Driver’s License + Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. + Must have the ability to work a varied schedule of day shift, night shift, and weekends due to construction contracts + Ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment (excavator and loader experience preferred) + Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in typical site work, grading, storm/sanitary/water pipe installation, etc + Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions **Conditions of Employment** + Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. **Work Environment** + Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level. **What We Offer** + $24.00 per hour base pay.
