Flavorist Assistant

Job Summary

This is an entry level role where the incumbent will learn how to conduct laboratory work and provide experimental data to support the technical teams on reactive and proactive projects under the direction of more senior technical staff.

Responsibilities: • Learn basic laboratory procedures, processes and protocols such as : • sample evaluation and preparation; • Analytical measurements (pH, Karl-Fisher etc.); • Extractions of market products using protocoled techniques; • Basic GC-FID and GC-MS operation and maintenance; • Routine maintenance of GC instruments; • Organize and maintain lab supplies, instruments and maintenance records • Follow laboratory safety practices and keep areas clean • Learn how to discriminate between flavors that have similar characters through olfactive/taste skills • Time management of projects • Identification of safe laboratory practices • Obtain supervisor’s approval before making changes to assigned tasks Requirements: • Knowledgeable in lab safety and relevant chemical processes • Has the functional and technical knowledge as well as skills to do the job with a high level of accomplishment • College degree or an equivalent certification in Science & Technology, Chemistry or related discipline + evidence of ongoing education to obtain a BS degree
