We are looking for an Analytical Chemist to join our team and support our Winning Flavors Business in North America.
This position is a key member of the Sensient team, where you will be required to collaborate at our onsite in Hoffman Estates, 5 days per week.
What you will do:
Perform flavor research and analysis functions as needed Independently operate HPLC, GC-MS, and GC for food and flavor analysis samples, as needed Develop and validate non-volatile HPLC methods for both beverage and food products Initiate and develop projects and initiatives to improve Analytical Services with respect to workflow, instrumentation, methodology, lab resources and data management Maintain and troubleshoot HPLC and GCMS systems Proactively seek new, more efficient and accurate ways of conducting test procedures and practices to promote lab performance. Maintain awareness of evolving trends in HPLC and GCMS Leverage soft skills to thrive in a highly collaborative winning environment Facilitate information sharing across groups to communicate analytical chemistry information to other groups within Sensient and to customers, as needed Performs technical mentorship functions as needed Ensures continuing technical and leadership development of staff Assist in providing analytical perspective in budgeting process and be accountable for budget and results of teamWhat you will bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry with 5+ years of experience in flavor analytical chemistry or related field Or Master's Degree and 3+ years of experience or Ph.D. Required experience with independently operating Agilent HPLC instrumentation 1200 series and Agilent OpenLab CDS Version 2 Preferred experience with operating Agilent series GC and GCMS instrumentation and Agilent Mass Hunter and Chemstation processing software Demonstrated experience developing and validating non-volatile HPLC methods for both beverage and food productsWhat you’ll get:
