Fleet Maintenance Mechanic

Position Overview

Skilled position performing scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment and vehicles including forklifts (electric and LP), aerial lifts, personnel carriers, and automobiles/trucks. Diagnoses, disassembles, and overhauls electrical systems, motors, drive systems, rear ends, brakes, and assemblies with high degree of independence. Personal tools not required.

Required Qualifications

Basic Requirements

At least 18 years of age (21+ if CDL required)Pass drug test and background checkPass validated selection testAbility to perform physical movements including lifting, pinching, bending, reaching, climbing, and object manipulation

Technical Experience

Forklift repair experience (propane fuel systems, hydraulic systems, palette jacks)Mechanical knowledge of industrial equipmentExperience with hydraulic and brake systemsUnderstanding of preventive maintenance programsPreferred QualificationsComputer instrumentation experience (desktop, hand-held, laptop computers for diagnostics and work orders)Manufacturing standards knowledge and current technology awarenessClass A or B CDL with truck driving experienceHeavy truck repair experience (tractor-trailers, brakes, tires, engines)Light truck repair experience (trucks, vans, support vehicles)Internal combustible/diesel engine knowledgeAutomated/autonomous mobile equipment experienceKey Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair

Diagnose vehicle failures and disassemble, repair, and reassemble partsPerform preventative maintenance and safety inspections on fleet vehiclesMaintain and repair fleet equipment per established procedures

Operations Support

Answer service calls promptly and effectivelyMaintain accurate vehicle records and documentationComplete all necessary paperwork and daily checklistsConduct pre-trip inspections and maintain inspection records

Quality & Safety

Follow preventive maintenance programs and safety protocolsEnsure all repairs meet quality and safety standardsMaintain organized and safe work environment

Location: Onsite in Lansing, MIchigan

Shift/Schedule: 3rd shift

Compensation: $38.50/hr + shift differential
