Fleet MechanicThis position will perform routine and non-routine maintenance, diagnostic and repair work on vehicles (buses, vans etc.) which adheres to Transdev standards. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles more complex problems and can resolve independently. All work is performed with a commitment to safety. May mentor or provide informal guidance to Technician I and/or Technician II. Also, may act as a Shift Foreman and may receive a shift premium. The above represents the standard Corporate Policy. Key Responsibilities: Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers by performing limited repairs with minimal
supervision on both basic and complex maintenance such as replacement of light bulbs, fuses, lenses,
wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries, check fluid levels, change fluids and filters and lubricate
components.
• Perform mechanical repairs under minimal supervision including the repair of brakes and brake
inspections, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs.
• Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles including parts and supplies used.
Ensure that work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain parts usage records and
order repair parts from designated suppliers.
• Diagnoses and performs accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under minimal
supervision. May perform diagnostic tests utilizing a computer and manufacturer’s software to
determine mechanical defects.
• Lead preventative maintenance (PM’s), safety maintenance inspections and annual maintenance
inspections at prescribed intervals of time and usage
• Remove, overhaul and reinstallation of mechanical components with minimal Tech in Charge supervision
• Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken
• Evaluates completed work prior to release and seeks approval where required
• Leads road calls and emergency services as necessary
• Adhere to Transdev standards, policies and procedures
• Moves vehicles safely between job and work area
• Repair and maintain all shop equipment

Minimum Education & Certifications Required: High School diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)Vocational or Technical certification in vehicle repair (Preferred)Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required (or expected within 3 months of hire)State inspection license (if required) ASE Certification preferred.
Minimum Experience and Skills Required:
•Advanced mechanical aptitude and 5 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or
equivalent education and experience
•Adhere to standards set by state DOT for motor vehicle inspections and safety standards
•Valid driver’s license
•Advanced problem-solving ability
•Advanced computer skills
•Comfortable using hand tools
•Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
•Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
•Maintain an organized shop and clean work environment
•Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

•Possess adequate mechanic tool inventory to complete all assigned duties and maintained in a clean
