Join Serco as a Fleet Mechanic in Winchester, KY!  We support a large utility fleet by operating, diagnosing and repairing light duty vehicles, medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks as well as other epuipment.

 

As a Fleet Mechanic, you can expect to:

Perform operational and functional inspections, repairs and maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.Perform inspections, repair and maintenance operations on a variety of powered, non-powered equipment, and vehicles.Ability to work on a diverse equipment set, which includes mowers, cranes, backhoes, trailers, trenchers, bulldozers, excavators, diggers and pole setting equipment, aerial manlifts, cranes, medium and heavy trucks and mounted/non-mounted attachments.Operate and perform diagnosis on equipment, maintain and repair hydraulic systems, routes and replaces hydraulic lines, check system for leaks and proper operation.Perform diagnosis and repair complex electrical systems.Perform minor welding repairs when required in a field environment.Perform routine vehicle and equipment preventive maintenance inspections checking, DOT inspections and replaces fluids, checks lights and other electrical system components, etc.Provide clear and accurate information when entering work order data into a fleet maintenance system.A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.Work under general supervision and is a self-starter.The list of duties does not include ALL duties that may be assigned to this position.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

At least 5 years of related experienceHigh school diploma or its equivalentValid driver’s license with good driving recordMust be computer literateMust be able to effectively communicate with customersMust possess necessary skills to operate and interpret diagnostic equipmentMust have welding experience  Possess or ability to obtain Class B CDL within 45 days of employment

 

Additional desired experience and skills:

Diesel vocational/technical school certificationsASE Certifications preferred or capable of gaining certificationsHydraulic experience preferred
