Fleet Safety Manager

Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fleet Safety Manager to ensure International's adherence to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The ideal candidate will manage various compliance-related tasks, including maintaining and updating DOT records, monitoring compliance status, and coordinating audits. This role will require strong knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations, as well as the ability to communicate and collaborate with various teams to ensure the company's compliance with DOT requirements. Responsibilities Maintain Corporate DOT information on DOT’s FMCSA portal site Manage Navistar’s driver and vehicle requirements to assure that Navistar maintains DOT compliant status Monitor CSA Scores and assure all violations assigned to Navistar are investigated and followed up on with the driver and the driver’s supervisor Schedule and administer Navistar’s biennial DOT Mock Audits Coordinate any DOT required Audits of Navistar documents and processes Work with Fleet Management on Vehicle preparation requirements Monitor DOT/FMCSA Regulation updates Manage Navistar’s DOT Random Drug & Alcohol testing program Chair quarterly DOT Compliance Executive Steering Committee Meetings Maintain/Update forms as required (Drivers Logs, DVIR’s, Accident Kits, etc.) Communicate DOT compliance requirements Maintain DOT related training records Administer record retention measures for all DOT documentation Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree At least 8 years of regulatory compliance experience At least 2 years of management experience OR At least 10 years of regulatory compliance experience At least 2 years of management experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills • Positive attitude and strong work ethic. • Excellent project management, organization, communication and presentation skills. • Comport oneself in a calm, pleasant and professional manner when interacting with internal employees, government personnel, third party service providers and medical staff. • Full vehicle technical knowledge and experience for medium & heavy trucks. • Organizational savvy and sense of urgency for getting driver and compliance issues resolved. • Knowledge of FMCSA regulations.
