Job Duties Work as part of the Mechanic Shop team to repair and maintain the Blain’s fleet of vehicles and powered equipment. Maintain, repair, and service semi tractors and trailers, cars, pick-up trucks, gas and electric forklifts, floor scrubbers, and a variety of industrial powered equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair automotive and diesel problems. Perform oil changes, repair & replace brakes, install replacement engines, overhaul engines, complete welding fabrication (plasma, mig, ARC), and tire changes and repairs. Perform DOT inspections where applicable. Repair and maintain hydraulics and ignitions. Complete trailer maintenance such as brakes, wiring, body work, wheel bearings, tire changes, fix flooring, lubricate doors, touch-up paint and fiberglass repair. Maintain clean and organized work area, including trash removal and scrubbing shop floor. Utilize parts, diagnostic, and service manuals to ensure accuracy in performance of work. Demonstrate awareness and compliance with Loss Prevention and safety policies and/or procedures.
