POSITION PURPOSE
Provides Part 121 Subpart Y Flight Training for Initial Qualification (IQ), Upgrade Qualification (UQ), and Continuing Qualification (CQ).    

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

Provides exceptional flight instruction for IQ, UQ, and CQ pilot training. Becomes and maintains Subject Matter Expertise concerning all Republic Airways, Inc. policy and procedure while remaining qualified to operate applicable Company Flight Training Devices (FTD) and/or Full Flight Simulators (FFS). Exudes Professionalism - Appearance, Language, and Demeanor are paramount in daily activities. Provides Leadership & Mentorship - Leads by Example: mentors, monitors, and trains others within their realm of influence.  Provides input to supervisor on performance reviews and helps to identify development needs to include curriculum updates/maintenance. Conducts departmental audits when assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

Airline Transport Pilot certificate.Must have full knowledge of all curriculums authorized to teach.CFR Part 121 Flight ExperienceFlight Instructing ExperienceAbility to teach and perform well in FTD, FFS, and Classroom setting.  Computer skills are required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) or equivalent with at least 4 years previous Aviation experience in a CFR Part 121 environment. 

REGULATORY

Able to pass an FAA required 10 year work history review and criminal background and fingerprint checks.  Authorized by law to work in the United States.  Must submit to and able to pass FAA and Company mandated drug and alcohol tests.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

DECISION MAKING

Makes day to day decisions used to support strategic direction.  Decisions often require some thought and are somewhat structured.  Decisions tend to be short term and usually moderate cost.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Able to stand at least 50% of the time.

Able to lift up to 25 pounds up to 35% of the time.

Typically not exposed to extreme environmental conditions.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, including overnight and weekend travel.
