The Performance System specialist team is part of the Aftermarket services group. Our goal is to keep flight simulators up to date so that our clients can use cutting-edge technologies for their training and to make the skies safer. Our employees design innovative solutions to meet daily technological challenges. The role we offer you: + Update complex performance evaluation systems (aerodynamics, flight controls, etc.). + Analyze project requirements and prepare simulator configurations. + Integrate, test, and validate the real-time flight simulation model in a laboratory environment as well as on flight simulators for various types of aircraft, remotely or on-site. + Understand aircraft flight dynamics and apply this knowledge to the validation of flight simulators. + Train colleagues on performance evaluation systems and help them develop their skills as generalists in simulator systems. + Identify and resolve software and hardware issues by interacting with the appropriate engineers/technicians. + Provide first-line support during project acceptance and qualification updates. + Interact with clients, other engineers, and flight crews, both at our factory and on the client’s site. The ideal candidate has the following profile: + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aeronautical Engineering. + Ability to program in C, C++, or Fortran in a Unix/Linux/Windows environment. + Knowledge of aerodynamics, flight dynamics, and control theory. + Knowledge of CAE simulation technologies is an asset. + Ability to troubleshoot and debug integrated systems. + Experience with various performance evaluation systems for simulators (flight, flight controls, motion, sound, engines) is an asset. + Experience in supporting client acceptances, field installations, and simulator qualifications. + Proven ability to demonstrate strong project management skills, and to work and make decisions independently. + Good communication skills. + Proactivity, flexibility, team spirit. + Willingness to travel to client sites. + Bilingualism (French and English) required. + In accordance with CAE’s epidemic and pandemic vaccination policy, as this work will be performed on a client site where vaccination is required by the Government of Canada, full vaccination is a condition of employment.
