Responsibilities

The responsibilities of a Float Pool Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) are indeed quite varied and require a high level of adaptability and flexibility. They must effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders, including patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure the best possible care.

 

LPNs in the float pool are tasked with delivering high-quality nursing care across different departments within a healthcare facility. This can include medication administration, treatment support, vital sign monitoring, and assistance with daily activities for patients. Additionally, they play a key role in promptly reporting any changes in a patient's condition to the appropriate parties.

 

Given the diverse nature of their work environment, LPNs must possess strong clinical skills and be able to quickly adjust to different team dynamics and patient needs. Their ability to adapt swiftly is crucial for success in this role.

 

Overall, being an LPN Float Pool staff member demands not only clinical expertise but also exceptional communication skills and an unwavering commitment to delivering top-notch care across various healthcare settings.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
 
1. Current and valid state license
2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Minimum one-year experience in an applicable setting preferred.
4. IV certification upon hire (state specific)
5. Current ACLS (AHA) certificate preferred or within 60 days of hire.
