A Magnet® Recognized Facility, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine is a 302-bed hospital offering advanced medical services for heart and vascular, women’s health, diagnostic imaging, trauma, orthopedics, spine, digestive diseases, oncology, neurology, ENT, pain management, weight loss and intensive and emergency care.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center– Grapevine has a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and is the only Level II Trauma Center in Northeast Tarrant County. Additionally, the facility is an accredited Cycle IV Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center and accredited in weight loss surgery, oncology, etc. The hospital was recognized by U.S. News & World Report in its 2021-2022 “Best Hospitals” ratings as high performing in the common procedures and conditions category for stroke, heart failure, kidney failure and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). It was also recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the only Tarrant County hospital, and one of only two hospitals in the Dallas Fort Worth region, rated High Performing, the highest-possible rating for Best Hospitals for Maternity for 2021-2022. Job Summary

\n

As an RN Float, you are vital in healthcare, coordinating patient care based on our nursing model. You assess patients, plan personalized care, and evaluate responses to health issues. You keep patients safe by understanding their needs and the healthcare setting for smoother transitions. You delegate interventions to team members based on guidelines, patient condition, and team abilities. Your professionalism and experience help you make important recommendations that impact patient outcomes.

Essential Functions of the Role

\n\nFocus on patient and family needs.\nDevelop and adjust nursing care plans for desired outcomes.\nYou will create a safe place for patients, families, and staff. You will help with emotional and physical pain to aid healing.\nEmbracing diversity in all its forms, you will incorporate the unique perspectives and requirements of patients into your care plans.\nPatients, families, staff, and community will be educated continuously.\nEvaluate and record learning progress.\nYou'll work with team and community to implement care plan, delegate tasks as needed.\nYou will solve problems efficiently, utilizing resources effectively and acknowledging their limitations.\nTo elevate your practice, continually seek professional development opportunities and contribute to community service.\n\n

Key Success Factors

\n\nYou should have a thorough knowledge of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.\nIt is essential for you to know relevant laws, rules, and regulations, including those for nursing care certifications and accreditations.\nYou should be familiar with concepts such as health promotion, risk reduction, illness and disease prevention, and management.\nIt is crucial for you to have effective communication skills, both spoken and written.\nYour critical thinking and problem-solving abilities will be vital in this role.\nGood grasp of general computer skills.\n\n

Qualifications

You should have graduated from an accredited program in nursing or have two years of relevant work experience.The main area of study in your education should be nursing.(2) Two years of experience in nursing is required.You need to be a registered nurseHave basic life support (BLS) certification or get it within 30 days of starting.
