Floating Center Director Coach

Job Summary:
The Educational Coach is responsible for coaching management, monitoring and instructional
strategies to ensure both compliance and excellence among teaching staff. This position will serve
as a support for the education team, providing coaching, guidance and support to a team and
classroom teachers to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal licensing and standard
regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
● Onboards and coaches new center leadership (Center Director, Assistant Center Director,
Master Teachers)
● Onboards Early Learning Inclusion Specialists
● Plans In Service with the partnership with Early Learning Inclusion Specialists
● Works alongside Behavior Guidance Coordinators to develop and review coaching plans
● Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required
Responsibilities when filling a Center leadership vacancy:
● Supervises all teaching staff (teachers, assistant teachers, floaters, substitutes and extended
day), which includes but is not limited to: hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and ensuring
accuracy, timeliness, and the completion of all work performed by direct reports
● Educates direct reports on all department and agency policies and procedures
● Meets with assigned staff regularly to identify and resolve problems, manage projects, track
goals, and review work processes and procedures
● Ensures all staff and center functions are fully compliant with policies/procedures, including but
not limited to effective practices in health and safety and compliance with Head Start Performance
Standards, local and state licensing regulations and overall center functioning
● Works with teachers to implement program curriculum with fidelity and the child assessment
system reliably, including understanding child outcomes data and using them to plan
● Remains reliable in tools and practices including but not limited to CLASS, Pyramid Model,
Second Step, LENA,TPOT,TIPTOS
● Provides ongoing coaching to teaching staff to support them in successfully fulfilling all aspects
of their role, including but not limited to effective practices
● Manages the full implementation of all aspects of our Acelero Learning methodology and
system of recordkeeping, reporting, and ongoing monitoring and data entry
● Participates in Head Start/Early Head Start community, including staff meetings,

mandated trainings, committee and board meetings, and other program-wide functions as
needed, including some evening activities
● Represents team and/or department at meetings, events, and training as required
Non-Essential Duties:
● Performs any and all other duties (or functions) as assigned.
Job Specifications:

Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education required
2. Infant/Toddler education/training for Early Head Start preferred
3. Minimum of three (3) years of managerial/supervisory experience
4. Experience working in a Head Start program required
5. Experience implementing Pyramid model, experience coaching on Pyramid Model preferred
6. Experience implementing CLASS, experience coaching CLASS preferred
7. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required
8. Must have CPR and First Aid certification, or required to obtain within
9. Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
10. Local travel and long-distance travel required.
11. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
● Knowledge of the health and safety licensing requirements for schools and/or childcare centers.
● Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards & Acelero Integrated Service Plan
● Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, in a number of forums
● Ability to work independently as well as collaborate and work as part of a team
● Demonstrated computer literacy skills, especially Excel and basic data systems in MS Office and
internet navigation.
● Must be honest, dependable, organized and able to meet deadlines.
● Self-motivated and able to seek resources to support the tasks associated with this position
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to sit most of the time with some bending and reaching.
● Ability to stand, walk, and bend periodically.
● Ability to engage in repetitive movement of wrists, hands, and fingers – typing and/or writing.
● Ability to work frequently at close visual range (i.e. preparing and analyzing data and figures,
accounting, transcription, computer terminal, extensive reading).
● Ability to receive and respond to oral communication.
● Ability to exert up to 40 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Work Environment:
● Work is generally performed in a school environment.
● Noise level in the work environment is moderate to occasionally loud (examples: preschool
activities, light to moderate traffic, human voices).
● Standard office equipment generally used includes:
o Personal Computer (monitor, keyboard, and mouse) or Tablet
o Printer/Photocopy Machine
● May be required to operate a motor vehicle during the course of duties.
