This is a Medical Assistant Floater position for the North-Orlando Region (including Winter Springs, Longwood, Lake Mary, and Altamonte Springs). The role primarily involves floating within these offices but may also require coverage in other locations outside of the listed offices. The ideal candidate must be flexible, dedicated, and professional. The primary function of the Floater is to perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The Laboratory Medical Assistant Floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
ResponsibilitiesPerform laboratory testing procedures.Report laboratory results to a healthcare clinician and alert them of any critical or out-of-range values while documenting critical reports.Perform phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.Prepare specimens for reference lab send-outs, including labeling, resulting, and billing information.Perform and document daily/weekly/monthly quality control, including instrument maintenance.Perform and document the patient’s intake vitals, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate; notify the clinician of any abnormal findings.Interview patients based on age appropriateness and/or specialty needs with accurate documentation and update medical records.Obtain necessary medical records, consultation notes, hospital inpatient and/or ED discharge records, diagnostic and laboratory results for clinician review, and treatment follow-up as needed.Essential SkillsMedical AssistingPhlebotomyActive BLS certificationMA Diploma / Certification required OR a minimum of 3 years MA experienceActive and valid driver's licenseKnowledge of medical terminologyExperience with EMR systemsAdditional Skills & QualificationsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work in various offices as neededDetail-oriented with excellent organizational skillsWork Environment
This is a patient-facing role with indoor work primarily in medical office settings. The position requires operating a computer and exposure to hazards. Physical requirements include reaching outward and above the shoulder, manual dexterity, lifting/carrying 10 lbs. or less, and sitting, walking, squatting, kneeling, or bending. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with Saturdays (up to 2x/month) from 8 am to 12 pm.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33196.00 - $46883.00
$3000 sign on bonus once they go perm, mileage reimbursement, additional $2 floater fee
Pay range $17.85 - $22.54 (+$2 floater fee)
