Designs, cuts and arranges live, dried, or artificial flowers and foliage for funeral services, cemetery, and special events. Provides excellent customer service when reviewing product selection, writing orders, and receiving payments. Delivers arrangements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews orders for clarity, product availability, events schedulePrioritizes work to meet deadlinesAnswers calls and greets clients in a courteous and empatheticallyDiscusses needs, suggests products, seasonal products, and floral services commemorating special events, quotes products, as well as records accurate orders and paymentsCollaborates with Funeral Director to clarify contractual requestsCollaborates with floral colleagues on design, scheduling, issues, and processCollaborates to resolve issues  Plans arrangement according to client's requirements, utilizing knowledge of design and properties of materials, or selects appropriate standard design patternSelects flora and foliage for arrangementTrims material and arranges bouquets, wreaths, terrariums, and other items using trimmers, shapers, wire, pin, floral tape, foam, and other materialsPacks and wraps completed arrangements for transportationMaintains clean, neat, and tidy design work area and flower coolerMaintains design equipment in good working order; notifies management when repairs or replacements requirementsDrives company vehicles to deliver floral arrangements to client homes or service venuesTakes precautions to secure floral designs during transportation

MINIMUM Requirements

Education

High School or GED equivalentTraining in Floral Design preferred

Certification/License

Valid state issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving recordCertificate from School of Floral Design preferred

Experience

3-5 years of experience in floral designDemonstrated knowledge of floral products and designDemonstrated knowledge of the care of floral plants and flowers

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Basic computer, internet and word processing skillsClear and articulate communication skillsHigh level of compassion and integrityProblem solving skillsAbility to multi task and prioritizeDetail orientedAdaptable to frequently changing priorities

Work CONDITIONS

Work EnvironmentWork indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather conditionsLimited amount of local and/or multiple location traveling requiredProfessional Dress is required when in contact with families. Work PosturesFrequent, continuous periods of time standing, up 6 hours per dayClimbing stairs to access buildings frequentlyPhysical DemandsPhysical effort requiring manual dexterity is required

Work HoursWorking beyond “standard” hours as the need arises

Compensation:

Salary: $17.50/Hr
