Job Description
The Medical Technologist is responsible for working under the Medical Technical Supervisor on the technical and scientific performance of the laboratory. This role requires the Medical Technologist to be onsite at all times when testing is performed. The primary duties include performing daily Hematology and Flow Cytometry processing and testing using cytometer and hematology analyzer software, acquiring data from patient samples, and analyzing processed data.
ResponsibilitiesPerform daily Hematology and Flow Cytometry processing and testing.Utilize cytometer and hematology analyzer software for testing.Acquire data from patient samples.Analyze processed data.Ensure all testing procedures are conducted under the supervision of the Medical Technical Supervisor.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in laboratory science or related field.ASCP certified Medical Laboratory Technologist.Experience within hematology, apheresis, serology, or flow cytometry.3 years' experience as an apheresis/flow cytometry/hematology Medical Laboratory Technologist.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in microbiology, serology, hematology, flow cytometry, chemistry, GMP, and chemical analysis.Knowledge of stem cell and blood apheresis procedures.Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite, working within the Apheresis department and interacting with other departments such as the R&D Lab and Donor Relations. The work hours are Monday-Thursday from 10am-7pm and every other Friday from 8:30am-5pm, with every other Friday off. Overtime is available when the donor queue is high, with proactive advisement from the manager. The role offers a team-oriented environment with excellent benefits, including a 401k match up to 6% and the opportunity to go permanent.
