Job Description
Our client located in Barrie, Ontario, is seeking a Fluid Power Builder– Senior will be accountable for the planning and execution of the fluid power phases of projects on time and on budget. The Fluid Power Builder will report directly to the Production Manager.
This is a dayshift position (40 hours per week)
Timings: 7 am to 3:30 pm
This is Temporary to Permanent position.
Pay rate- $38/hr (depending on experience)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate in accordance with required health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors. Thorough understanding of fluid power & pneumatic principles . Understand engineered drawings in both AutoCAD & SolidWorks format— mechanical, schematic, ISO. Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics including the ability to troubleshoot systems. Build and troubleshoot hydraulics and pneumatics on automated assembly, resistance and mig welding equipment. Able to bend tube, thread pipe. Able to work with pipe threading machines and tube benders. Basic knowledge of tube, pipe, hose routing on fixtures. Possess basic welding/brazing/soldering skills . Assists in plant and equipment maintenance. Ensure all work activities are completed according to the procedures or best practice. Maintain quality, generate issues lists related to the equipment, and provide that feedback to the necessary departments. Work within the project team to provide feedback to engineering to improve fluid power efficiency and reduce cost. Utilize fundamentals in fluid power practices to help engineering design equipment that will be cost effective and meet our customer needs. Able to expedite product - possess computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook and Excel Travel to customer sites to install or service equipment at their facility, and be part of the team that starts up the equipment and completes the job onsite. Some heavy lifting – up to 50 lbs., bending, twisting, kneeling and able to climb a ladder. Occasional international travel. Mentor and lead Junior and Intermediate Fluid Power Builders. RequirementsPost-secondary diploma in Electro-mechanical Engineering an asset. Minimum 5+ years direct working experience assembling, plumbing and troubleshooting automation. Experience in automation/robotics industry. Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Fluid Power drawings and schematics. Skilled in assembly of complex tooling and system plumbing relating to fluid power. Resilient, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure. Passionate about health and safety. Embrace change and suggest areas of improvement i.e. curiosity and continuous improvement mentality. Sense of urgency. Able to be both a team leader and team participant. Proactive - can identify issues before they occur and address them before problems arise. Excellent communicator - both in oral and written communications. Organized and deadline driven.
