We are seeking to fill a co-op position in the area of system dynamics to generate actionable insights in support of tactical and strategic decisions. This position will be with the risk and reliability analysis team of FM Research and is an on-site position located at Norwood, MA. The position will be up to 6 months and will start as soon as possible. The selected candidate will be working closely with and under the guidance of the project lead

 

Responsibilities Data analysis and interpretation of commercial data to identify trends and patterns to provide actionable insights through systems dynamics modeling.Collaborate with stakeholders from other areas and departments to understand business objectives, develop data frameworks, and establish implementable project tasks with vetting from other stakeholders.Develop understanding about FM’s objectives; Prioritize data initiatives that drive value creation which in turn would lead to actionable insights, especially focusing on enhancing loss prevention and other key performance indicators of the organization.Document the results and deliver presentations to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner. Qualifications Technical Degree and background in engineering and mathematics with particular emphasis on data science, operational Research, statistics, or a related field. Students working for master’s and doctoral degrees are preferred.Currently enrolled and in a college or university and working towards a degree in a relatable  technical fieldDecent experience/exposure in data management, analytics, and modeling, preferably to address industry needsExperience and proficiency with advanced statistical, analytics and predictive data analysis and modeling tools, preferably for system dynamics modeling tools such as Vensim or Stella.Strong analytical skills and attention to detailsProficient written and oral communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
