SUMMARY
The Facility Management Technical Escort will mainly be responsible for meeting on-demand requests for escorting of contractors on the Campuses when the Corps of Commissionaires are unable to do so. Other related duties will include assisting with other basic technical building routine and on-demand services on grounds and non-technical facility components (i.e. walls, floors, etc.).
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Vendor Escorting
Performs escorting of contractors within a Government of Canada environment ensuring all contractual protocols and procedures are followed. Validates contractor personnel have registered with security, signed in, and are carrying the appropriate passes which are always to remain visible. Always remains with the contractor(s) and/or visitor(s) maintaining an unobstructed “line of site” while having complete “care and control” within the building areas. Ensures all uncontrolled access points into restricted areas are locked and secured when entering and exiting those spaces with approved keys and access Assists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through way of work performed and services delivered. Must currently possess or be eligible to obtain PSPC clearance of Reliability (Secret Level II preferred).Safety

Communicates to vendors all safety, security, and fire procedures and policies on the client sites Reports any incidents in a timely manner as per BGIS policies.Maintenance
Performs work in accordance to all established processes and practices as required Complies with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection, and security. Performs regular facility and facility non-technical component monitoring and inspection. Provides observations about facility, grounds and non-technical component conditions and deficiencies, and provides suggestions for enhancements and repair. Monitors assigned facility by conducting facility walkthroughs, grounds, facility non-technical component monitoring and inspection Assists in work order life cycle progressing the work form dispatched through to completion and records resolution data within service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirements.Administration
Records resolution data within service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirements. Initiates documents to obtain formal approval of work required. Participates in and assists with facility-related projects. Ensures the way work is performed is following corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection, security and any other applicable area as required.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
High School with some professional training and 1-3 years of experience in facility management operations Strong working knowledge of facility operations Knowledge of security requirements of Government of Canada facilitiesLicenses and/or Professional Accreditation
Engineering Technology training or Skilled Trade training Driver’s License - G2 considered and asset
