Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
+ Provide career tracks in trades such as caulking, coating, masonry, painting, plastering, and roofing, which encompass tasks ranging from routine and unskilled to highly skilled.
+ Apply methods and general procedures of relevant trades and maintenance techniques, while developing proficiency in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment appropriate to the trade.
+ Perform tasks including maintenance, repair, replacement, fabrication, installation, alteration, construction, and design of facility components. These tasks require skills in planning, problem-solving, attention to detail, teamwork, communication, and adherence to safety policies and regulations.
+ Serve as a helper to advanced and journey-level technicians, assisting them in daily job duties and gaining hands-on experience.
+ Work outdoors, often in elevated conditions. Applicants must be comfortable with heights.
+ Assist advanced and journey-level technicians with tasks performed from lifts, while learning to operate the lifts as part of the job responsibilities.
+ Ability to obtain a drone license as part of the position requirements to assist advanced and journey-level technicians with building and roof inspections
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
+ Graduation from high school or equivalent.
+ Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
+ Ability to follow applicable building codes.
+ Ability to effectively communicate.
+ Effective skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communications.
+ Computer literate.
+ Knowledge and skill with Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs.
+ Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork with co-workers, visitors, building occupants, and the entire campus community.
+ Selected candidate must have capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
+ This position must be willing to learn how to fly a drone and receive there 107 drone lichens.
