Under the direct supervision of the Dietary Director, the Food Production Specialist 1 performs a variety of patient and/
or cafeteria food service duties, as well as other related tasks. The statements herein contained reflect the general duties
of the position as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of work requirements ingerent to the
position.
FPS 1 assists with tray assembly, transport of food carts, delivery of trays and return to and from the patient care
units. Responsible for all ware washing for retail and patient services, including but not limited to flatware, china, glass-
ware and kitchen pot/pans. Responsible for emptying the tray carts in the cafeteria. Performs needed sanitation tasks
in the department as assigned, trash removal etc. Responsible for maintaining daily high standards of food and physical
safety, sanitation, and the daily use and care of needed equipment and tools. Will follow proper labeling, rotation, and
quality control practices. Will be cross trained on other duties throughout the food service department.
Will have the ability to work with little or no supervision. Follows posted work schedules, payroll procedures and
attendance guidelines. May be required to work flexible hours, days off, and overtime as required by operational work-
loads. Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times in compliance with current department standards
and policy. Promotes and practices teamwork and presents a positive role model for fellow team members. Works
quickly and well under strict time deadlines. May be asked to assist in other areas as needed and perform other duties
as assigned.
