**_POSITION SUMMARY:_** The Special Event Manager plans, oversees, and executes all food & beverage special events at Finley Farms **_ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:_** + Adheres to standards of operations, policies, procedures, instructions, etc + Plans, organizes, and oversees large seasonal and holiday events at Finley Farms – New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas + Works with Food & Beverage department heads to plan and enhance Finley Farms sponsored events. + Maintains special event calendar, pricing, groups, etc. + Ensures Sales and Catering software has the proper function space and backup space is assigned and reserved. + Schedules arrangements for entertainment and activities. Prepares Banquet Event Orders, Resumes, Staff handbooks, signage, etc. for each special event, constantly planning and reviewing the details/changes + ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED **_EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:_** + Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent + Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Business or Hospitality related field + Years of experience: Preferred 2 Years of experience in a sales capacity **_KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:_** + Ability to learn all working knowledge of all Finley Farms outlets and amenities + Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.). + The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems. + The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. + Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology. + Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects + Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. + Ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about products, services or situations, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem. **_PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:_** Regularly walks, sits, stands, and does computer work. Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs. **_INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT_** : Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices.
