POSITION SUMMARY:
The Food Expeditor ensures that all kitchen orders are prepared in a timely manner and according to menu plating guide and customer specification/special requirements.
He / She may also finalize / verify the presentation of the plate and test the temperature of the food as per given outlet standard, to keep orders flowing from the kitchen to the diners, food runners and service staff who are delivering completed orders.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Operational
Ensures the efficient flow of orders from the dining to the kitchenReceives and coordinates tickets orders from dining, relay to the kitchen, monitors progress and ensures that the kitchen puts out the dishes according to the docket’s specifications and outlet’s dish out timingReviews order dockets ensuring accurate and timely prepare the food requirements accordinglyChecks dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperatureInspects the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assists/ coordinates cleaning proceduresTransfers important information between the kitchen and the waiterStocks / restocks items on line according to specifications.Maintains thorough knowledge of menu and presentation standards.Completes the daily responsibilities that are set for each individual shiftRemains in charge of runner rostersRemains in charge of RR ordering pertaining to service ingredients & condiments2. Other Duties
Understands and strictly adheres to Rules and Regulations established in the Employee Handbook and the hotel's policies concerning fire, hygiene, health and safety.Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.Responds to changes in the Food and Beverage function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.Attends training sessions and meetings as when required.Carries out any other reasonable duties & responsibilities as assigned as superiors due to business requirementsQUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
Has experience in Food and Beverages, 5 star international hotels/resorts, and/or in freestanding restaurants is an advantageContinental & Asian food knowledge required Good command in both spoken and written EnglishEducation
Preferably a Diploma holder in Hospitality Business Management or any related courseSkills / Competencies
Has exceptional Organization skillsHas effective time management, task management and communicationGood communication skills in both spoken and written English.Highly customer service-oriented Passionate and energeticOther Attributes
