SUMMARY: The Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician position is responsible for:

Performing physical and visual inspections of product and plant systems then documenting, and calculating results accuratelyTaking corrective action when necessary (alert appropriate personnel to adjust process; identify, segregate, & isolate non-conforming product) and report results to management; Any additional assignments requested. All team members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 25 pounds. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; steel-toed work boots, hardhats, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks. Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 1 plus year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.

Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, understand, and interpret product specifications.

Special Skills & Abilities:

Must possess the skills necessary to complete Tyson paperwork accurately.Strong leadership abilities, leading by example and motivating the hourly workforce.Excellent problem identification and problem-solving skills, acting with urgency to resolve inconsistencies and seeking assistance when needed.Ability to perform accurate calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).Strong math and organizational skills, with attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.Ability to read and interpret product specifications.Must function well under stress and work professionally and respectfully with others, demonstrating positive interpersonal skills.Effective communication with all team members and management.Ability to report to work as scheduled and work assigned hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed.Flexibility to work other jobs, as needed, and in various locations and conditions.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in extreme seasonal temperatures (hot/warm to cold) with damp, wet, and slippery conditions.Requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching in multiple directions.Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. at various heights and angles.Requires climbing stairs/ladders to reach work areas and working at elevated levels or in confined spaces, if necessary.Must have the ability to flex/grip with wrists/hands and use tools effectively.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, hair net/beard guard, steel-toed boots, and gloves.
