Location Description Michael Foods, Inc. located in the Village of West Jefferson, OH, is located just minutes from the western suburbs of Columbus and about 20 minutes to the west of downtown. We are proud to be Michael Foods’ most recent greenfield project, producing high quality protein shakes serving people all around the world. Responsibilities Review and maintain the routine paperwork such as those related to the Regulatory, Food Safety / HACCP Plan, Sanitation, SQF Audit, Food Defense Program, GMP programs and customer specific documentation. Be an active member of the HACCP / Food Safety team. Perform and co-lead the internal audits program. Monitor and update Corrective Action Database. Assist with developing and conducting training programs for employees related to HACCP, SQF, GMP’s, etc. Review and create SOP’s and SSOP’s working closely with plant quality and sanitation teams. Assist FSQ Supervisor and provide back up for QA Techs when needed. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Adhere to all safety polices and procedures. Required to work some off shifts (Sanitation hours), weekends, and holidays as needed to conduct sanitation audits, training and insight to current QA or sanitation practices. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years experience in a food processing environment LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers/vendors, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Basic understanding of statistical process control. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: Examples of licenses, certificates, and registrations required within first 6 months to a year of employment HACCP Certification PCQI Certification SQF Practitioner Audit Certification recommended OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Specific skills and abilities required that are not included in other sections: Must possess strong communication skills both verbal and written. Able to demonstrate interpersonal skills: Take a team building approach and work effectively in a cross-functional environment Strong organizational and implementation skills Advanced Computer Skills: Share Point, Word, Excel, Power-Point
