We are looking for an experienced FS&Q Manager to lead the Food Safety and Quality agenda at our plants at Rilland and Kruiningen. This critical role ensures compliance with McCain standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements while championing a culture of food safety and quality across the site. The FS&Q Manager works closely with cross-functional teams from other Appetizer sites to enhance operational performance, product quality, and customer satisfaction. Periodic travel to other sites and headquarters (Villeneuve d’Ascq) is required.

 

This position demands strong expertise in food safety, leadership in quality systems, and the ability to drive continuous improvement while maintaining a high level of audit readiness.
 

Your responsibilities

Food safety programs: Implement, maintain, and improve food safety systems, including HACCP, GMPs, environmental monitoring, and sanitation programs.Audit readiness: Ensure the plant is always compliant with regulatory standards and prepared for client and certification audits.Quality management: Oversee product quality and sensory evaluations, address deviations, and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.Compliance: Manage certification programs (e.g., GFSI) and ensure adherence to statutory and customer standards.People leadership: Foster team development, identify training needs, and promote a food safety-first culture across the organization.Performance improvement: Track and analyze FS&Q performance metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance and reduce complaints.
 

Qualifications

Education & experience: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field, with at least 5 years of (leadership) experience supervising, coordinating and following up on international audits within food manufacturing.Knowledge: FDA certified, Halal, Kosher and V-label. Knowledge of the English retail market is preferred.Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of microbiology, foodborne pathogens, sanitation, and regulatory standards. Key-user ERP system (SAP) and strong project management skills are preferred. Familiarity with EU and U.S./Canadian food laws is a plus.Skills: Stakeholder & project management. Analytical and results-driven, with excellent communication and leadership capabilities. Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement tools is essential.
