Job Summary

Our team is looking for a Food Scientist for our South Brunswick, NJ.

Description/Responsibilities:

Proficient on recipes, ingredients, raw materials and their functionProficient in IFF’s data management systems (SAP, IFFman, and Catalyst, GIAS, Salesforce.com and other relevant systems)Effective solution provider and problem-solving skillsNew concept development abilitiesGood knowledge on flavor legislation in the regionAble to identify technical resources needed for reactive customer projectsClosely follows up on projects, making sure they are executed on timeStrong ability to link customer needs to IFF’s capability and technologies. Able to identify flavor and ingredients opportunities with customers and provide feedback internally of product gaps in our portfoliosPromotes, participates and supports Category aligned initiativesContributes to the strategy of their local execution and their positioning with customersStrong understanding of IFF’s product portfolio and technologies and able to articulate relevant advantages to customers. Provides feedback and contributes to the development of new IFF’s toolsFosters the use of new materials and technologies from the Innovation programs, gathers critical feedback from team for continuous refinementAble to lead customer working sessions, strong ability to listen to customers and deliver on their expectationsAble to lead the design solutions based on customer feedback and anticipate customer taste and texture preferencesWorks to build customer network through customer interactions at product trainings, working sessions, presentations, and industry eventsSets project and team priorities to ensure timely executionPassionate about developing people, coaching, strategy, management, and leadershipAble to attract, develop, engage, and retain talent. Strong ability to work well with others and resolve conflictsExecution of teams’ development plan using SMART objectives and personal aligned with Category and business objectives
 

Requirements:

BS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, Food Engineering or related disciplinesMinimum 10 years’ experience in food, pharmaceutical, ingredient or flavor industry2 or 3 years exposure to interdepartmental cross-functional team roles (leader, participant, manager, etc.)5 years in the specific field of expertise
