Job Summary: Greets and serves internal and external customers in a polite and courteous manner from assigned area. Performs a variety of Food Service Assistant Retail responsibilities inclusive of: handling money and operating cash register according to proper techniques and ensuring money variances are within acceptable standards, prepare food items, beverages and operates equipment safely, stocks and cleans assigned areas, performs sanitation duties and participates in cross-utilization of department personnel.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Valid Oklahoma Food Handler's permit.
Work Experience: 6 months to 1 year related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Effective interpersonal communication skills. Ability to accept direction and supervision.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Works in assigned area(s) as directed always greeting internal and external customers politely and is courteous at all times. Assists and serves customers from various Food Court concepts as assigned. Operates cash register by charging correct prices for all food & beverage items served. Receives and enters payment and counts back change accurately. Over and shorts are within established standards. Voids and error corrects are minimal. Assists and prepares coffee, coffee drinks, tea, smoothies and if needed a variety of foods items like salads, sandwiches, burritos, and pizza. Observes and follows recipe by accurately weighing and measuring ingredients for food and drink items. Stocks, keeps the work area clean, and participates in deep cleaning duties to meet required sanitation standards. Performs sanitation responsibilities as assigned. Participates in cross utilization of department personnel as needed. Adheres to department policy, and wears designated uniform. Demonstrates good personal hygiene and accepts direction. Follows safety practices, cost awareness and adheres to schedule and assigned break periods.
Decision Making: The carrying out of non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from supervisor.
Working Relationships: Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
