Food Service Attendant

UPMC Western Maryland is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Service Attendant to join our team. This part-time position will work a maximum of 8 hours per week, and involves cleaning, washing dishes, and preparing patient desserts and drinks. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely assembly, final preparation, and service of nutritionally-appropriate and attractive meals. This role requires adherence to food handling techniques and food safety procedures, along with demonstrating excellent customer service skills consistently.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Secure necessary food and service equipment/utensils for assigned area prior to meal service.
+ Adhere to department procedures regarding the operation of all food service equipment.
+ Inventory and stock bulk supplies, following established procedures and designated timeframes.
+ Serve patient meal trays using the designated department script, ensuring proper patient identification.
+ Bus and sanitize tables and chairs.
+ Deliver meals to residents’ rooms upon request.
+ Set tables for the following meal according to the Food Service Guidelines Manual.
+ Assemble and serve meals according to diet orders, menus, and patient/guest specific requirements.
+ Maintain food safety and quality as mandated by PA Department of Health, Allegheny County Health Department, and PA Department of Welfare (where applicable).
+ Adhere to hand hygiene and infection control procedures consistently when interacting with customers.
+ Perform sanitation for assigned work area in accordance with departmental procedures and health department guidelines.
Work permit required if under 18 years old.
