The Food Services Team Member assists preparing food for groups up to 500+ along with maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and equipment, following established health and safety procedures. This position provides assistance to food services staff during their shift.

 In this role, you will:

Provide friendly, prompt customer service Ability to assist preparing and cooking meals for up to 500+ people Set-up meals, delivery of snacks, dishwashing, kitchen and dining hall cleaning Ability to assist ensuring all special dietary needs are met Ensure a high level of quality, cleanliness and safety in all food preparation Assist in the washing of dishes and food packaging containers Ensure food safety and follow safe food handling and sanitary procedures Assist in storage of supplies using the first in first out method, rotating stock; ensures proper storage of products Assist with general maintenance and cleanliness of site and provides support with other duties as required Perform other duties as assigned

You bring:

Working towards and/or completion of some post-secondary courses in related field is an asset Experience in institutional cooking is an asset Excellent customer service Energetic and enthusiastic personality Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset Able to participate actively in a team for organizational effectiveness Ability to work effectively with others and independently to achieve optimal collective results Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers Excellent written communication skills Food Handlers Certificate, First Aid, WHIMIS is an asset Flexibility regarding assigned working hours, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays required Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
